Korean archers can't win even if they shoot 29

Even if a South Korean archer shoots 10 points and two shots with nine points and one shot, the South Korean team cannot win the match. The South Korean team can earn two set points in an ordinary competition, but this is not enough for the South Korean archers. The situation continues to be ridiculous.

The same is true of the men's individual archery competition at the 2024 Paris Olympics, which is taking place in Anvalidde, Paris, France on Monday (Korea time). The competitors who compete with the Korean players are also showing off their formidable potential, but the Korean players took the points. This is because the Korean players are continuing their 10-point streak without hesitation.

China's Wang Yan, who faced off Lee Woo-suk (Kolon), had two sets in which he failed to secure two points even after shooting 29 points. In the first set, he shot two 10-point shots and one 9-point shot, but lost two points to Lee who shot a perfect score of 30. In the second set, he shared one point with Lee Woo-suk each.

In the fourth set, Wang Yan's three arrows hit the target of 10 points. However, Lee answered Wang Yan's counterattack with a perfect score of 30. Taking one point, Lee advanced to the quarterfinals by winning 6-2. All two points allowed were one point each, and Lee gave up in the two sets. In the round of 16, Lee shot 10 from 11 out of 12.

The same applies to Marcus Dalmeida (Brazil), who played against Kim Woo-jin (Cheongju City Hall). In the first set, Kim had to share one point with Kim Woo-jin, who shot the same score as Kim. In the third set, Kim also shot two 10-point shots and nine-point shots, which have high possibility of securing two points overall, but lost two points entirely to Kim Woo-jin, who shot a perfect score of 30.

In the end, for the athletes facing the Korean male archers, even if they shoot 29 points in one set, they cannot guarantee two points. For the opponent, who will have aspirations to go beyond the Korean athletes to the podium, it is a close trend to despair.

In men's archery, Lee Woo-seok, Kim Woo-jin and Kim Je-deok (Yecheon County Office) are challenging for the gold medal through individual competitions. South Korea, which previously won gold medals in the men's and women's team events, mixed team events, and women's individual competitions, is the last puzzle for the men's individual competition to win gold medals in all events.
